Daya Tarik Kesawan sebagai Destinasi Wisata di Kota Medan

Abstract

The city of Medan has many historical heritages, one of which is in the form of historic buildings in the Kesawan area, which have existed since pre-colonial times. This research aims to reveal the attractiveness of Kesawan as a tourist destination in Medan City. The methods used include literature study and field study. The literature study includes books, articles and other sources related to history, culture and tourism development in Kesawan. Meanwhile, field studies were carried out through direct observation in the area. The research results show that Kesawan has a unique attraction in the form of well-preserved colonial architecture, rich history and various culinary specialties. Good accessibility includes strategic location, public transportation, road access, pedestrian facilities, and accessibility for people with disabilities. Apart from that, Kesawan is equipped with various amenities such as various accommodation and dining places, as well as complete public facilities such as public toilets, ATMs, money exchangers and hospitals. Conservation and promotion efforts by the government and local community have also contributed to increasing the popularity of Kesawan as a tourist destination in the city of Medan.
