dc.description.abstract | Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is raw palm oil which can be produced from the pressing process or mesocarp extraction. A problem that often occurs in CPO factories is a decrease in CPO quality caused by an increase in free fatty acid (FFA) levels and water content. To maintain the quality of the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) produced, it is necessary to monitor the quality of the CPO. The CPO produced must have established standards to follow. The standard for free fatty acid content contained in CPO is 3.0% - 5.0% and the standard for moisture content is 0.25% - 0.50%. The quality standard used is SNI 01-2901-2021. This research aims to determine the quality of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) in PT truck tanks. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Belawan Unit through chemical composition analysis. The parameters used are analysis of free fatty acid levels (FFA) and water content. Water content analysis was carried out using a moisture analyzer, while FFA analysis was carried out using a titration technique using a 1% phenolphthalein color indicator. The results of three repetitions of water content measurements showed values of 0.27%, 0.27% and 0.17%, while the results of FFA titration calculations showed values of 3.06%, 3.12% and 3.12%. From the results of experiments that have been carried out, the average moisture content and FFA values of CPO oil samples are at the SNI 01-2901-2021 quality standard, namely water content 0.25% - 0.50% and FFA content 3.0% - 5.0%. | en_US |
