Preparation of palm empty fruit bunch cellulose nanofibre with MnO2 and GO
(Graphene Oxide) as supercapacitor electrodes has been carried out. The cellulose
obtained was subjected to FT-IR test to determine the OH group. Preparation of
cellulose nanostructures was carried out by ultrasonication method for 2 hours using
ultrasonic homogenizer, PSA (Particle Size Analyzer) test was conducted to
determine the size of cellulose nanofibre and the size of CNF obtained was 144.52
nm. SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) test to determine the morphology.
Cellulose nanofibre obtained as much as 3 ml were then mixed with 50mg MnO2 and
GO variations of 33%, and 50% stirred for 1 hour and then the mixture was smeared
using a brush on aluminum foil measuring 2 x 1.5 cm. The electrode was then dried
at 40℃ for 1 hour. The supercapacitor electrode can stick well to the aluminum foil
and does not peel off. The supercapacitor electrode was tested with cyclic
voltammetry (CV) and four point probe (FPP). The best capacitance was 45.305 F/g
at 33% GO variation. The best electrical conductivity is found in the variation of 50
mg MnO2 and 50 mg GO with the value of GO50% is 5.9418 S/m. At 45.305 F/g
capacitance has not met the standard said to be a supercasitor electrode because the
capacitance value has not reached 100F/g.
