dc.description.abstract | This research is entitled "Communication Patterns between Coaches and Trainees with
Special Needs at the Medan Basketball Academy". The aim of this research is to determine
the communication patterns used by coaches and trainees at the Medan Basketball
Academy, obstacle and supporting factors for communication in the training process. The
theory used in this research is the communication pattern theory according to DeVito. This
research uses descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. The data
collection techniques used were interviews and observation. The number of informants in
this research was five people, consisting of two trainers, two trainees, and one source
triangulation person. The analysis technique used is the Miles, Hubermen, and Saldana
technique, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusions and verification. The
results of this research show that the patterns used between coaches and trainees with
special needs at the Medan Basketball Academy are primary, linear and circular patterns.
Obstacles that occur during the training process are difficulty communicating in long
sentences, the trainee's focus is disturbed, difficulty controlling their emotions, active
hands which stops communication. | en_US |
