Flood disasters pose a high risk to life safety, damage infrastructure, and negatively impact individuals both physically and psychologically, necessitating a high level of resilience. Family resilience is crucial as it influences a family's preparedness in facing flood disasters. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of a family resilience model in facing flood disasters in Aur Subdistrict, Medan City. This quantitative study employs a pre-experimentaldesign with a one-group pre-test - post-test approach. The sample consists of 42 family heads who have experienced flood disasters. Purposive sampling was used for sample selection, and data were collected using a family resilience and preparedness questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. The results implicate that family resilience education and preparedness training are effective in enhancing family resilience and preparedness in facing flood disasters, with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.005). It is recommended that healthcare and nursing providers offer family resilience education and preparedness training for flood management to help families maintain and adapt to the challenges they face.
