Pengaruh Program Pemberdayaan Keluarga terhadap Resiliensi dan Kemampuan Merawat Anggota Keluarga dengan Skizofrenia di UPTD Khusus RSJ Prof Dr Muhammad Ildrem

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder characterized by distortions in thinking, perception, emotions, language, and behavior. Families of individuals with schizophrenia often experience significant burden when the caregiving needs cannot be adequately met. Hence, there is a need for a family empowerment intervention program to enhance resilience and caregiving abilities of family members for individuals with schizophrenia. The aim of this research is to identify the irifluence of a family empowerment program on resilience and caregiving abilities of family members with schizophrenia. The study utilized a quasi-experimental two-group pretest­ posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents from families visiting the outpatient clinic. Participants were divided into two groups: 15 in the intervention group and 15 in the control group, using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the ·Family Resilience Assessment Scale (FRAS) and a questionnaire on caregiving abilities for family members of individuals with schizophrenia. Data were analyzed using dependent t-test and independent t-test. The results showed significant changes in resilience and caregiving abilities of family members with schizophrenia before and after participating in the family empowerment program in both intervention and control groups (p-value < 0.05). There were differences in resilience and caregiving abilities of family members with schizophrenia between the intervention and control groups after participating in the family empowerment program (p-value < 0.05). This family empowerment intervention program can be used as an effective nursing intervention to enhance resilience and caregiving abilities of families in caring for individuals with schizophrenia.
