Analisis Ketersediaan Koleksi Perpustakaan SMA Unggulan CT Foundation Berdasarkan SNP RI No. 12 Tahun 2017

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the availability of collections in meeting the needs of library users and to identify both inhibiting and supporting factors in the collection availability at CT Foundation Fetured High School Library. The assessment in this study was conducted according to the Indonesian National Library Standard No. 12 of 2017. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through documentation, observation, and interviews. The findings revealed that (1) the type of collections at CT Foundation Featured High School Library aligns with the national library standard, with the mandatory textbook collections being adequate, though the fictional supplemental books were less adequate, which comprised of only 334 titles, equating to 8.5% for fiction and 91.4% for non-fiction. The collection was also expanded irregularly, and similarly, magazine subscriptions did not meet standards, subscribing to only one title instead of the recommended three. Reference materials were almost adequate, yet the library lacks regional statistical books and directories. Consequently, the collection availability at CT Foundation Featured High School Library does not fully meet the National Library Standard No. 12 of 2017. (2) The primary limiting factor in collection expansion was the financial constraints from solely relying on foundation funds; however, partnerships with publishers and other institutions have been a viable alternative. Although this has not resulted in a substantial collection, it has significantly contributed to enhancing the variety of reading materials available in the library.
