dc.description.abstractIndonesian tourism has great potential with natural and cultural beauty that can increase foreign exchange. Alahan Panjang Tourism Village in West Sumatra Known as the "Nagari Dingin Tak Bersalju," Alahan Panjang offers stunning natural charm and is an example of community-based tourism development, combining natural beauty with agricultural activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of economic benefits of tourism to assess the extent to which the Alahan Panjang Tourism Village community feels the economic benefits of tourism activities. This research method uses a qualitative method with a participatory approach to understand the utilization of tourism by the Alahan Panjang community in economic activities. Involving active community participation through interviews and observations, this research identifies key issues, collects data with participants, and conducts collective data analysis to ensure findings reflect community perspectives. Active community participation is key in ensuring that tourism development in Alahan Panjang is sustainable and provides positive impacts for all parties involved. The results of this study before tourism developed, Alahan Panjang's economy depended on the agricultural sector, with most of the population growing vegetables, fruits and other food crops. Although agriculture is the main source of income and employment, its income is unstable as it depends on the season, weather, and market prices. This dependency limits economic diversification, income stability, and human capital development. These challenges prompted the search for income alternatives, which was realized through the development of a community-based tourism sector. Conclusion This research has identified and analyzed various aspects related to the impact of tourism on the local economy in Alahan Panjang through interviews with several key informants. The following are some of the main conclusions that can be drawn from this research: Positive Economic Impact: Tourism in Alahan Panjang has had a positive economic impact on the local community. Tourism destinations have contributed to increased local income and job creation.en_US
