dc.description.abstract | This research aims to explain and describe how the student movement
rejected the government's policy on fuel price increases. Student movements are
often a significant force in voicing aspirations and rejecting government policies
that are considered detrimental to society. This case study focuses on the Medan
Branch of the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) which rejected the
fuel price increase. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection
techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The
results of this research show that GMNI Medan Branch organized itself through
internal meetings, coordination with other student organizations, and public
campaigns. Factors that influence the success of this movement include internal
solidarity, community support and effective communication strategies. This
research contributes to the understanding of the role and mechanism of student
organization movements in rejecting government policies. | en_US |
