dc.description.abstractIsolation and identification of flavonoid compound from beringin cina (Ficus microcarpa L.f.) leaves has been carried out starting with maceration extraction with methanol solvent. The concentrated methanol extract was repeatedly extracted with ethyl acetate until negative with 5% FeCl3 test. The ethyl acetate extract was dissolved with methanol and partitioned with n-hexane until clear. The methanol extract was concentrated and analysed by thin layer chromatography and separated by column chromatography with eluent chloroform : ethyl acetate 90:10; 80:20; 70:30; 60:40; 50:50;40:60;30:70;20:80;10:90 ( v /v) respectively. The obtained compound was purifi ed by preparative thin layer chromatography with chloroform : ethyl acetate 80:20 ( v /v) eluent and obtained a greenish yellow amorphous solid of 9 mg with Rf= 0.32. UV-Vis spectrophotometer analysis with methanol solvent showed two absorption peaks with wavelengths (λmax) 349 nm and 268 nm. Infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR) showed the presence of O-H, C=O ketone, C=C aromatic, C-H, C-O-C and C-H sp 2 groups. Proton Core Magnetic Resonance Spectrophotometer (¹H- NMR) showed the presence of H-6, H-8 and H-2' & H-6' protons. Spectroscopic data showed that the isolated compound was obtained to be flavonol group.en_US
