Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that can be obtained through the CPO transesterification process or fatty acid esterification. Indonesia has a high demand
for fuel oil and still relies on imports, which has led to a depletion of petroleum availability. To address this issue, it is important to establish a biodiesel factory
using PFAD in Indonesia. The establishment of such a factory is expected to help
meet Indonesia's fuel oil needs.
The pre-design biodiesel plant using PFAD is intended to have a production
capacity of 170,000 tons per year, operating for 330 days a year. The planned business entity is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a workforce of 130 people.
The economic aspect analysis yielded the following results:
• Total Capital Investement = Rp. 1.439.676.217.320,40.-
• Total Production Costs = Rp. 2.104.079.016.329,06.-
• Sales Result = Rp. 2.645.035.668.391,49.-
• Net Profit = Rp. 359.791.173.621,51.-
• Profit Margin = 19,43%
• Break Event Point = 27,60%
• Return on Invesment = 24,99%
• Pay out Time = 4 years 1 month
• Return on Network = 41,65%
• Internal Rate of Return = 27,63%
Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that establishing the "Biodiesel Production Factory from Palm Fatty Acid Distillate" is feasible
