dc.description.abstract | Environmental simulation using Virtual Reality (VR) technology has become an increasingly important medium in various fields, including education and also exploring environments that are still difficult for many people to access. In this context, this research uses Virtual Reality (VR) media as a tool to explore the environment in Antarctica, specifically the South Pole. Antarctica is one of the areas on Earth that not many people have yet explored, which makes it offer unique challenges for the field of research and exploration. In this research, a gamification method is used which involves the use of game elements to encourage engagement and learning for users. By creating a VR simulation application, users can experience the challenges and beauty of Antarctica while interacting with elements of the gamification method such as rewards and missions. This application was created using Unreal Engine which can render in real-time to create an attractive Antarctic environment. Evaluation in this application will discuss the effectiveness of gamification methods in increasing user engagement and providing greater understanding of the Antarctic environment. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a new color for the use of VR and gamification methods in the context of environmental simulation and potentially in the fields of education and scientific research. | en_US |
