Analisa Foto Jurnalistik mengenai Kerusuhan di Stadion Bola Kanjuruhan pada Instagram

Abstract

This research is titled Analysis of Photojournalism Regarding Riots at Kanjuruhan Football Stadium on Instagram. The purpose of this research is to determine the denotative meaning of journalistic photos regarding the riot at Kanjuruhan Stadium on the Instagram account @antarafotocom, to identify the connotative meaning of these photos, and to uncover the myths inherent in them. The theories used in this study include social media, media representation theory, symbolic interaction theory, photojournalism, and Roland Barthes' semiotics. The method applied is Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis with a qualitative descriptive approach. This research does not involve informants. The data was obtained through documentation and literature studies. Data validity was achieved using theory triangulation techniques. The results show that the journalistic photos of the riot at Kanjuruhan Stadium on the Instagram account @antarafotocom have varying denotative meanings that differ from the actual reality and do not involve photo manipulation. The connotative meanings also vary, carrying implicit messages that deepen the understanding of the event's complexity. The journalistic photos in this study also contain their own myths, involving human aspects and daily life.
