Abstract
PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk is one of the largest State-Owned Commercial Banks (BUMN) in Indonesia which plays an important role in encouraging the country's economic growth through various banking services. One of the main business activities for conventional banks is providing banking credit. When providing credit, banks should be careful and carry out in-depth analysis. However, in providing credit, there are times when the credit given by the debtor is not returned on time. This condition is called uncollectible receivables, therefore credit problems must be resolved using 2 channels, namely litigation or non-litigation. This research discusses existing problems, as well as the process of solving them, and what factors make PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Medan City Hall Area chose the litigation method to resolve bad debts. Qualitative and descriptive research methods were used in this research to analyze this. The data obtained from this research includes primary data, namely data obtained from interviews and secondary data, namely data obtained from the literature. Researchers concluded that in resolving bad debts with collateral. In this research, the case study that the researcher examined used the technique of settling bad debts through litigation, namely by liquidation which basically complies with the provisions of article 12A paragraph (1) of the Banking Law based on the bank's internal regulations and statutory regulations.
