dc.description.abstract | The Langkahan ceremony is a traditional ceremony in the Javanese tribe. This ceremony is held when a younger sibling steps over his older brother or sister to get married first. Javanese people believe that everything must be done in accordance with the order, as well as in marriage. Generally, the older brother or sister comes first, but when the younger sibling gets married first, which is considered out of order, the Langkahan ceremony is held. The method used in compiling this paper is through interviews, reading books related to the topic and reading related journals through the internet. In this paper, the author tries to explain the stages of the Langkahan ceremony as well as the meaning and function of traditional symbols that are used as a requirement to perform the Langkahan ceremony. The author hopes that through this paper, readers, especially the younger generation, will understand the symbols used in the Langkahan custom. And this paper can provide readers with an understanding of the Javanese Langkahan custom. | en_US |
