A Description of The Main Character’s Conflicts in Movie The Amazing Spider-Man 1

Abstract

This paper has a purpose of the research to find out the description of the main character portrayed and the conflict of the main character in the movie. The method used by the writer in this research is qualitative description to collect the data. The writer watched the movies for many times to collect dialogues and scenes as the data. The writer used the theory of William Kenney. According to William Kenney (1966) conflict is divided into two types, namely internal conflict and external conflict. After doing the research, the writer concludes that the conflict that occur to the main character in movie The Amazing Spider-Man 1 is a conflict that not only comes from outside but also from inside. The movie highlights the themes of power, responsibility, and choice. The writer hopes that the paper can be useful for further research for those taking the same topic as the writer.
