Violent behavior is a common symptom observed in individuals with schizophrenia (IWS). Those exhibiting violent behavior symptoms generally lack the ability to control their emotions or anger. One non-pharmacological approach to managing violent behavior is through the implementation of a self-management program. This study aimed to determine the effect of a self-managen1ent program on the ability to control violent behavior in individuals with schizophrenia. The research design was a quasi -experimental pre-test-post-test nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. with a total sample of 76 in patients with schizophrenia divided info two groups: 38 respondents in the intervention group and 38 the respondents in the control group. Data collection ,vas conducted using the Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy (RESE) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using paired I-tests and independent I-tests. The results showed a significant difference in the ability to control violent behavior before and after the self-management program intervention in both the intervention and control groups (p=0.001: p < 0.05). There was also a significant difference in the ability to control violent behavior after the self-management program intervention between the intervention group and the control group (p=0.00/; p < 0.05). This study provides evidence that the self-management program, positively impacts the ability of individuals with schizophrenia to control violent behavior. Nurses are encouraged to utilize the self-management program to systematically train individuals with schizophrenia in controlling violent behavior. enabling them to recognize. understand the causes. and appropriately manage violent behavior.
