Hypertension is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure above normal limits, with systolic blood pressure exceeding 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure exceeding 90 mmHg. The treatment of hypertension involves several aspects that help control blood pressure and prevent serious complication, such as dietary patterns, physical activity, medication adherence, stress management, and lifestyle changes. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of family education on family knowledge and compliance of hypertensive patients in adhering to treatment in the working area of Glugur Primary health Care, Medan City. The research method used was pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The study population consisted of 482 respondents. The sample was selected using non-probability purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test for variables of hypertension treatment and patient compliance in adhering to treatment. The data analysis results showed a mean difference before and after the family knowledge intervention with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.005) and compliance with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.005). In conclusion, there is an influence of family education on family knowledge and compliance of hypertensive patients in adhering to treatment.
