Hemodialysis patients cause psychological problems that arise can affect self-acceptance. The research aim to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) on self-acceptance in hemodialysis patients. The research employs quasi experimental method with nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design, by involving 68 patients who are undergoing regular hemodialysis at RSP Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P Lubis USU. The research subjects are divided into two groups, the intervention group and the control group, with each group consisting of 34 people. The results of the study showed that the self-acceptance score in the intervention group had increased significantly compared to the control group. The Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference in self-acceptance scores between the intervention group and the control group after giving the intervention (p<0.05). Based on the results of the research, it concluded that MBIs is effective in increasing self-acceptance in hemodialysis patients. It is expected that this research could be a basis for the next research that design more comprehensive and integrate interventions to improving self-acceptance in hemodialysis patients.
