A Description of The Main Character’s Conflicts in The Movie Coda

Abstract

This study is to describe the conflict of the main character in the movie Coda. This research is focused on understanding conflict, looking for dialog related to conflict to be used as data. Classifying internal and external conflict, and describing the types of conflicts faced by the main character, and how to resolve these conflicts. The method used is descriptive qualitative based on Kenney’s literary theory. The results of this study reveal that the conflicts faced by the main character can be divided into internal and external conflicts. Ruby Rossi is considered the main character because she dominates the whole story. This paper describe of the main character, Ruby Rossi as a child born to deaf parents and a helper for her family and pursuing her dreams in the world of singing.
