dc.description.abstract | Workaholism, or work addiction, is an increasingly common phenomenon in Japanese society. Japan's famously disciplined and dedicated work culture has long been one of the main driving factors for the country's economic progress. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of workaholism in Japanese society, known as "karoshi", and its impact on individuals and society as a whole. The results show that workaholism has a significant negative impact on individual health, increasing the risk of illness, and mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. In addition, workaholism has a wide-ranging and negative impact on various aspects of Japanese workers' lives, including physical and mental health, interpersonal and family relationships, as well as work productivity and overall quality of life. The "karoshi" phenomenon is an extreme example of the consequences of workaholism that can be fatal. | en_US |
