The Japanese nation is a nation that has unique cultural values that influence their lifestyle from the past until now. This then raised awareness that Western nations could not be defeated with weapons alone, but had to use the spirit of bushido which had been inseparable from the Samurai since the Kamakura period This writing aims to determine the ethical values of bushido, the influence of bushido on modern Japan and the principles of bushido. This writing uses a bibliographic method, namely by collecting existing reading sources such as books as references related to Japanese bushido. Bushido is the ethical and moral code of Samurai in Japan. Samurai cannot abandon ethical values because if they abandon one teaching ethical value then the quality of a Samurai will be lost so that he will not have a warrior spirit. Therefore, bushido is able to form the figure of a warrior who is always superior.en_US
