Analisis Penerapan Kode Etik Jurnalistik dalam Pemberitaan Penganiayaan David Ozora pada Media Kompas.com dan Detik.com

Abstract

This research is entitled “The Analysis of Application of the Journalistic Code of Ethics in Reporting on the Persecution of David Ozora at Kompas Media and Detik Media”. The research method descriptive qualitative. The goal of this research is to know how Kompas Media and Detik Media applying the Journalistic Code of Ethics in writing news about presecution of David Ozora. This research is using Kompas Media and Detik Media‟s news about David Ozora‟s presecution as object of the research. In this research, what is analyzed from the news is the application of the Journalistic Code of Ethics. Data collecting technique which are used in this research are collecting data, reducting data, presenting data, and drawing conclusion. The results of the research prove that Kompas Media and Detik Media have implemented the Journalistic Code of Ethics well in writing news, but the results of the research found that Kompas Media and Detik Media journalists violated the Journalism Code of Ethics Article 5 where Kompas Media and Detik Media opened opportunities for the public to find out identity of child victims, even Media Detik does not censor the names of child victims in writing its news.
