Peran Pemerintah Kabupaten Padang Lawas dalam Penurunan Prevelensi Stunting

Abstract

This study has a phenomenon that is still in the Barumun District Padang Lawas Regency Stunting still exists, the absence of a fixed place to carry out posyandu activities and the lack of parental understanding of child care patterns. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Health Office in handling stunting in Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency (Stunting Study in a Padang Lawas) and to determine the obstacles in the Role of the Government’s in Handling Stunting in Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency (Stunting Study in a Padang Lawas). The theory used, according to Jim Ife (in Pawalin, 2017) has several indicators, namely the Facilitative Role, Educational Role, Representational Role and Technical Role. The research method used by the author in this study is the Qualitative Method, this method relates to opinions, ideas, ideas or trust in the objects to be studied, all the required data is presented in the form of words and language. The results of the study revealed that the Handling of Stunting in Barumun District Padang Lawas Regency with several programs, namely Posyandu, Pregnant Women Class, PTTD, and PMT, socialization in the form of counseling conducted at meetings such as posyandu and a group of mothers assisted by the Puskesmas and village cadres. This is done with the hope that the public will be aware of the importance of health regarding the handling of stunting in order to be free from stunting in the future. Several factors that become obstacles in handling stunting are the lack of understanding of parents on parenting patterns, diet, a clean environment and the absence of a fixed place to carry out posyandu activities.
