dc.description.abstractScheduling is a planning activity to determine when each operation as part of the work as a whole must be carried out with limited resources, as well as allocating resources at a certain time by taking into account the capacity of existing resources. After applying the Linear Program model using the simplex method at the Panyabungan Mandailing Natal Regional Hospital for the problem of scheduling nurse work shifts in inpatient rooms, optimal results were obtained using a mathematical solution. The optimal result for the morning shift in a week is 32 schedules so that the average nurse who experiences the morning shift in a day is 5 nurses, for the afternoon shift in a week it is 14 schedules so that the average nurse who experiences the afternoon shift in a day there are 2 nurses, for the shift There are 12 night schedules a week so that on average there are 2 nurses who have night shifts a day and for those who don't have shifts or holidays there are 19 schedules so that on average there are 2 nurses who have a day off.en_US
