A Description of The Main Character’s Conflicts in The Movie Better Days

Abstract

This paper is titled "A Description of The Main Character's Conflicts In The Movie Better Days". This study aims to describe the character of the main character contained in the movie "Better Days". The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative (qualitative research). Qualitative descriptive research aims to present a complete picture of an event or is intended to expose and clarify a phenomenon that occurs. The theory used in this research is from William Kenney. According to Kenney (1966:19), conflicts are divided into two types, namely internal and external conflicts. The data source in this research is the movie "Better Days". First, the author watches and understands the story of the movie. Then the writer looks for dialog related to the conflict used as data. After that, the author classifies internal and external conflicts, describes them and finally makes conclusions.
