dc.description.abstractDenture bases are part of dentures that rest on soft tissue and serve as the attachment site for denture components. One of the commonly used materials is heat-cured acrylic resin (RAPP). RAPP possesses mechanical properties, including impact strength, which is crucial to prevent fractures such as breakage if dropped on a hard surface. Therefore, modification is needed by adding reinforcing material to RAPP, such as CaCO3 derived from eggshells. This research aims to determine the influence of adding CaCO3 to RAPP. The study design is a laboratory experimental study. The samples in this study are heat-cured acrylic resin obtained from master models made of stainless steel measuring 65 mm x 10 mm x 2.5 mm. There are 33 samples divided into 3 treatment groups: a control group, a group with 2.5% eggshell addition, and a group with 5% eggshell addition. These samples were tested using a Charpy impact tester and analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis followed by Mann-Whitney tests.The test results showed a significance level of p = 0.001 < 0.05, indicating an effect of adding 2.5% and 5% eggshells. Furthermore, Mann-Whitney results showed that the control group and the group with 2.5% addition had a value of (p = 0.048 < 0.05), the control group and the group with 5% addition had a value of (p = 0.001 < 0.05), and the group with 2.5% addition and the group with 5% addition had a value of (p = 0.002 < 0.05). From this research, it can be concluded that the highest impact strength value was found in the 5% eggshell addition group.en_US
