Kurnia Steel is a company that produces furniture products made from steel and wood. The scheduling system at Kurnia Steel uses series scheduling with makespan minimization criteria, namely the Campbell Dudek and Smith method. Observation results show that there were delays in the production of cafe chairs in April, June, October and December 2023. The aim of this research is to develop a schedule for the chair production process using the criteria for minimizing makespan to avoid delays. n this research, production scheduling will be designed using the proposed Ant Colony algorithm method. The company's actual scheduling using the Campbell Dudek and Smith method with the sequence Job A-Job B-Job C results in a makespan of 108,90 hours. The proposed scheduling using the ant colony algorithm results in a lower makespan compared to the company's actual where the makespan is 107,62 hours with the production sequence Job C-Job A-Job B so that makespan savings can avoid tardinessen_US
