In today's era, property security is becoming increasingly important for most people. One area that is often a target for crime is where valuables are stored, such as money, personal safes and others at home or in shops. Luxury goods which tend to have high prices are often targets for theft crimes at home or in shops at the same time. Therefore, technology is needed that can detect early in order to reduce the very widespread crime of theft of valuable items. Like that, security is an important aspect of life. That's why various kinds of developments in the field of technology are designed to provide security and even protect owned assets. Therefore, the author tries to design a microcontroller-based home security system which is expected to be useful, especially for people who frequently travel outside the house. A home security system has been designed to detect movement in the house using an Arduino nano-based motion sensor. With this method, the sensor tests how far it detects humans who are near the motion sensor. This sensor can also detect from a distance of 1 meter to 5 meters. Then, the output voltage from the PIR sensor is measured at 3 volts and sent to the sound recording, then sound is played when an object hits the motion sensor. The results of the research are that from a distance of 1 meter with an output voltage of no more than 5 volts, the device or sensor can detect it and if it starts from a distance of 6 meters and the output voltage is 0 volts, the motion sensor does not detect any movement in front of the sensor.
