dc.description.abstract | AISI 1050 steel is a type of medium carbon steel that is widely used in various industrial applications, including manufacturing, automotive, and construction. Welding is a technique for joining metals by melting part of the parent metal and filler metal with or without compression and with or without additional metal and producing a continuous connection. One of the key aspects in welding is the seam or bevel. Butt refers to the shape or angle used at the ends of the materials to be connected. Welding is a technique for joining metals by melting part of the parent metal and filler metal with or without compression and with or without additional metal and producing a continuous connection. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effect of variations in V, I, X. From this research, the most optimal welding results will be obtained based on tensile, hardness and impact tests on the variation of seam used so that it is hoped that it can provide knowledge in improving the weld quality and durability of welded steel structures. The results of the research show that the most optimal welding results were obtained, namely in the Tensile test of the X seam specimen which had a maximum force value of 88 kN, a strain of 3.4%, a tensile stress of 748.9 MPa, a hardness value of 248.4 VHN at the base metal, 352.6 VHN in HAZ, 284.6 VHN in weld area, fracture energy value of
122.25 (kg.m2)/s2 and strength of 105.80 J/cm2 | en_US |
