| dc.description.abstract | Figurative language is language used to convey something to the reader or listener, but does not explain or reveal the actual meaning. This research aims to identify and analyze the types of figurative language and the meaning of figurative language contained in several Rex Orange County Song lyrics. The result of this research are expected to contribute to theories related to figurative language. This research shows the types of figurative language as references. In this research, the writer used a qualitative descriptive method on several Rex Orange County song lyrics which contain many types of figurative language, the writer also look for sources on the internet to add information related to the topic to find out the types of figurative language and the meaning of each figurative language. After analyzing several song lyrics, researchers found five types of figurative language used in the lyrics of their Rex Orange County songs, it is metaphor, hyperbole, simile, personification, and repetition. But Metaphor is the type of figurative language that is most often used in the lyrics of the selected songs. | en_US |
