Design And Implementation of A Room Temperature Control Device Using DHT11 Sensor and Portable Mini AC Using ESP8266 as Microcontroller Based on IoT
Abstract
I have conducted a research titled "Design of Room Temperature Control Device using DHT11 Sensor and Portable Mini AC with ESP8266 as its Microcontroller based on IoT". The background of this research is to achieve thermal comfort indoors, which is crucial for health, productivity, and quality of life. Maintaining ideal room temperature manually can be inconvenient and inefficient. An IoT-based automatic room temperature control system offers a solution. This study aims to design and build an automatic room temperature control system using DHT11 sensor, portable mini AC, and ESP8266 as the microcontroller. The system is expected to effectively monitor and control room temperature. The tools and materials used include DHT11 sensor, portable mini AC, ESP8266, and Arduino IDE software. The research findings indicate that the designed automatic room temperature control system can monitor and control room temperature as programmed. Specifically, when the room temperature detected by the DHT11 sensor is >28°C, the portable mini AC turns on, and conversely, when the room temperature detected by the DHT11 sensor is <28°C, the portable mini AC turns off. The room temperature can be maintained at the desired set point with high accuracy. Moreover, the system has proven to be energy-efficient by optimizing the use of the portable mini AC.
