dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research is to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication towards adaptation, to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication on employee performance and to organize appropriate interpersonal communication strategies for employee adaptation and performance at PT Pertamina Lubricants Sales Region I Northern Part Sumatra (SUMBAGUT) uses SWOT analysis. The research uses a descriptive quantitative method with active employee of PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) Sales I Region SUMBAGUT as the population and 50 (fifty) respondents in 2024 are taken as the samples. The data are analyzed using single tables, cross tables, t test and Coefficient of Determination. The research results show that Ha1 is accepted which means that there is an effect of Interpersonal Communication on Employee Adaptation, Ha2 is accepted which means that there is an effect of Interpersonal Communication on Employee Performance. Based on the Guilford scale the effect of Interpersonal Communication on Adaptation Employees are classified as very low, the effect of Interpersonal Communication on Employee performance is classified as very low. Interpersonal Communication Strategy analyzed produces 4 (four) strategies namely 1). SO (Strength Opportunity) strategy by increasing interactive communication between employees and supervisors to take advantage of supervisors who openly accept employee’s input, 2). ST (Strength Threat) strategy by developing Strategy interactive communication to overcome communication problems with supervisors regarding work issues, 3). WO (Weakness Opportunity) strategy by improving communication among employees by taking advantage of superiors who openly accept input, 4). WT (Weakness Threat) strategy by developing two ways of communication to overcome communication problems and support from supervisorsen_US
