dc.description.abstractIn the tropics, airflow is essential for health and plays a role in creating thermal comfort. In addition, the thermal resistance of clothing also affects the thermal comfort of workers. Findings in the field that workers often sweat due to excessive exposure to heat while working, so workers often leave the work area or take off their clothes to cool down. Airflow and thermal comfort are difficult to assess through subjective evaluation. Therefore, a study was conducted by evaluating airflow and thermal comfort through physiological measurements to analyze the influence of airflow distribution on the thermal resistance of clothing using thermal manikins. This research was carried out experimentally by collecting primary data in the form of clothing temperature and skin temperature thermal manikin. After that, data processing and analysis of the thermal resistance value of clothing were carried out. It was found that the resistance value of work clothes with the distribution of airflow throughout the body tended to be higher than the distribution of airflow to the upper body. Recommendations for improvement that can be given are by minimizing heat exposure to the worker's body by wearing more breathable work clothes such as natural Bamboo fibers and providing additional ventilation in the form of exhaust fansen_US
