dc.description.abstract | The utilization of hospitals as a type of healthcare facility is influenced by various factors, including sociocultural, organizational, and community factors, where the community serves as users or consumers of healthcare services, and healthcare providers contribute as service providers. Tapanuli Selatan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) is one of the hospitals available in the Tapanuli Selatan Regency, North Sumatra Province. The utilization of RSUD Tapanuli Selatan has experienced a 6.3 percent decrease in outpatient visits and a noticeable decline in inpatient care, reflected in the low average Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR) at 15 percent, compared to the ideal BOR in Indonesia ranging between 60 and 85 percent. The general objective of this research is to analyze the factors associated with the utilization of RSUD Tapanuli Selatan. The research design used is quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The sample size in this study is 75 respondents selected by simple random sampling. Research data were obtained through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results showed that the variables of patient satisfaction (p=<0.001), transportation mode (p=0.005), travel distance (p=0.028), travel time (p=0.004) and transportation costs (p=<0.001) were associated with the utilization of RSUD Tapanuli Selatan. However, variables such as knowledge (p=0.830) and illness perception (p=0.467) did not have an association with the utilization of RSUD Tapanuli Selatan. RSUD Tapanuli Selatan is expected to maintain and improve the quality of healthcare services and reactivate the call center service specifically for the free ambulance unit to ease transportation mode and costs for the community, thereby enhancing the utilization of healthcare services at RSUD Tapanuli Selatan. | en_US |
