dc.description.abstractBackground: Overweight and obesity are children's health challenges in the 21st century and have an impact on children's socio-emotional and academic outcomes at school. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical used in everyday products such as drinking water bottles and protective coatings on food and drinks. BPA is an endocrine disruptor chemical and has obesogenic effects in adults. Objective: To determine the relationship between Bisphenol A and overweight and obesity in children at Pesantren Darularafah Raya Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design using consecutive sampling technique. Statistical analysis was carried out to assess the relationship between BPA levels and the incidence of overweight and obesity using the Chi Square test on data with a normal distribution and data was not normally distributed using the Fisher's Exact test. Results: 30 subjects were recruited in this study, Bisphenol A values did not relationship with overweight and obesity (p=0.225). Conclution: The Bisphenol A value has no relationship with overweight and obesity in children.en_US
