    Abstract
Aedes albopictus is a vector for several diseases, such as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), and zika. These diseases require preventive measures such as vector mosquito control, which usually uses insecticides. Ujung Bandar Village is an area located in Salapian Sub-district, Langkat District, with a high level of insecticide use with no rotation. This may result in dicreased sensitivity of vector mosquitoes to insecticides. This study aims to determine the resistance status of Aedes albopictus mosquitoes to lambda-cyhalothrin and cypermethrin insecticides in Ujung Bandar Village, Langkat Regency. This research was conducted in November 2023- February 2024. Ovitrap egg samples from Ujung Bandar Village were brought to the Entomology Laboratory, Environmental Health and Disease Control Engineering Center Class I, Medan. Eggs were raised into adult mosquitoes and then tested for susceptibility status using the WHO tube test method. Tests were conducted on two different generations, F2 and F3, against two insecticides, 0.08% lambda-cyhalothrin and cypermethrin. The results were analyzed and interpreted according to WHO regulations. The results showed that Aedes albopictus mosquitoes in Ujung Bandar Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, have been resistant against 0.08% lambda-cyhalothrin and cypermethrin. Based on the test results on the two different generations, it showed the same results, resistance. This indicates that the resistan characteristics on vector mosquito were passed on to the next generation. The presence of mosquito resistance to both insecticides showed that better management of insecticide application is urgently required in Ujung Bandar Village to prevent the risk of increasing vector disease transmission in the future.
