    Abstract
Recently, cases of theft have been increasingly occurring everywhere. These incidents have made the community uneasy, especially when homeowners are not at home. In such situations, thieves can freely empty the contents of a house. This condition can be immediately prevented if homeowners can quickly become aware of their home's condition. To prevent theft as early as possible when the owner is not at home, an automatic response system device is needed. One way to meet this need is by utilizing the SMS (Short Message Service) feature. In this Final Project, research and design were carried out on an automatic home condition monitoring system when the owner is not at home. This monitoring system utilizes the SMS feature to convey information to the homeowner who is away from home. The system uses main devices such as a camera sensor and an Arduino microprocessor to detect and process signals from facial detection. If someone visits the house and it is detected that their face does not match the homeowner's face, the camera sensor will send a signal to the Arduino to immediately send a notification to the owner via SMS. Shortly after receiving the notification via SMS, the owner then replies to the message, and a warning alarm sounds. From the tests conducted, this monitoring device has worked well. Out of 45 trials with different faces, the facial sensor has been able to detect both strangers' faces and the homeowner's face accurately in various conditions, both dark and light. Notifications are delivered to the owner via SMS in an average time of 1.2 seconds
