dc.description.abstractHigh rainfall and less than optimal drainage channels in accommodating rainwater on Perhubungan road , Percut Sei Tuan subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency are the causes of flooding problems. With this problem, an evaluation of flood control is carried out using the drainage improvement method, namely by widening the existing drainage on Perhubungan road, Percut Sei Tuan subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency so that it functions optimally. Researchers conducted an evaluation using primary and secondary data processing in the field. Then conducted hydrological and hydraulics analyses on drainage channels. Researchers used rainfall data for the last 10 years and calculations using rainfall intensity with the algebraic average formula then using the Log Pearson III distribution for a 5-year return period. After comparing the existing capacity of the channel with the planned flood discharge, it was found that the existing channel on Jalan Letda Sujono could not accommodate the planned flood discharge, which resulted in water overflowing out of the channel and inundating the surrounding area. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to evaluate the dimensions of the drainage channelen_US
