Palm oil is one of the important vegetable producers in the world and is a good biodiesel fuel so that the development of the palm oil industry in this era of globalization is growing rapidly. The Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS) is a company operating in the palm oil industry which has a role in the field of research and development of the national palm oil plantation industry. The problems experienced by PPKS in the seed preparation unit were the number of breakdowns and machine repair time which resulted in wasting a lot of machine operating time so that daily production planning was not fulfilled. The aim of this research is to provide suggestions for scheduling maintenance and minimizing maintenance costs for seed separator machines using the reliability centered maintenance (RCM) method. The data used is data taken from the field during the period January 2022 – October 2023. The research began by carrying out an analysis using the failure mode and effect analysis method to obtain the highest RPN value for each component to determine critical components consisting of disk, bearing and dynamo. After that, a logic tree analysis method is carried out to determine the effect of each failure that occurs on the production machine components and a selection task to determine maintenance actions to be carried out on each production machine component obtained from the selection task answers which are in accordance with the selection road map. action. The research results show that the RPN values of critical components in the form of disk, bearing and dynamo components are 280, 378 and 560 and the recommended replacement time for disk components is 205 days, bearing 180 days and dynamo 284 days. In calculating repair costs, there was a reduction in repair costs from actual repair costs in the form of IDR 354,319,964 to IDR 335,824,976 in proposed repair costs so as to minimize maintenance costs incurred by the company
