dc.description.abstractThis study aims to explain the use of Malay kinship greeting words in Sungai Kuruk Dua village, seruway sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency and the use of Malay non-kinship greeting words in Sungai Kuruk Dua village, seruway sub-district, Aceh Tamiang Regency. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. The data source in this research is the Malay community in Sungai Kuruk Dua Village. Data analysis methods are (1) Transcription of recorded and recorded data, (2) Translating the language spoken by the community in Sungai Kuruk Dua Village, Seruway District, (3) Analyzing greeting words based on type and form, (4) Concluding the results of the analysis. The theory used in conducting this research is the theory of Sociolinguistics. The results of this study are: (1) there are 2 types, (1) sequential relatives and (2) unsequential relatives. Sequential kinship greetings in the family consist of, parents of great-grandparents, greatgrandparents, grandparents, father/mother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and antah. Non-sequential kinship greetings mean people who still have blood ties either because of one parent, one grandmother or one grandfather consisting of, brother, brother, sister, uncle/aunt, cousin and niece. Meanwhile, Laki, bini, men-in-law, in-laws, in-laws, biras and besan are greetings that fall under the term indirect kinship, which is kinship caused by marital ties.en_US
