dc.description.abstract | UD. Citra Jaya is a trading business engaged in the production and sale of furniture, one of its products is frames. One of the machines used in the frame production process is a wood smoothing planer machine. Based on data obtained, this wood grinding planer machine worked ineffectively from April 2023 to March 2024, resulting in high machine downtime during the production process (breakdown). This research aims to measure and analyze the effectiveness of wood grinding planer machines using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and the Overall Resource Effectiveness (ORE) method, then analyze the causes of failure using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The results of calculations using OEE and ORE show that the effectiveness of the machine has not reached JIPM standards with an average of 52.14% and 42.71%. The measurement results show that the ORE value is lower than the OEE value. ORE calculations show that the factors causing losses include availability of facilities with a value of 81.14%, performance efficiency with a value of 63.64%, and quality rate of 93.60%. The factors causing this loss are then analyzed using a fishbone diagram by looking at human, machine, material, environmental and method factors. The results of the analysis from the fishbone diagram are used as a factor for calculating the RPN value in the FMEA method, where the results of the RPN calculation show that the highest factor causing failure is a machine with an RPN value of 892.
