Abstract

PT.GLOBAL MITRA PRIMA distributes cosmetic products with the KINO brand with three source locations (Medan, Binjai and Tebing Tinggi) delivery which requires sending goods to four destination locations (Sibolga, Pematang Siantar, Tanjung Balai and Sidikalang) with more inventory. much more than demand. So that the distribution pattern becomes irregular, making distribution costs not optimal. By applying the transportation method, the initial feasible solution calculation obtained using the VAM Approach (Vogel's Approximation) is IDR. 47,310,000,- which has regular distribution transportation routes. Medan-Sibolga transported 200 cartons, Medan-Pematang Siantar transported 600 cartons, Medan-Sidikalang transported 600 cartons, Binjai-Sibolga transported 500 cartons, Binjai-Dummy transported 400 cartons, Tebing Tinggi-Pematang Siantar transported 300 cartons, and Tebing Tinggi-Tanjung Balai transported 700 cartons. Tested with the final solution using the MODI (Modified Distribution) method, optimal results were obtained from distribution costs with the company of Rp. 5,845,000,- or 11.07% of the profits obtained from the transportation routes that have been arranged as follows, Medan-Pematang Siantar transporting 600 cartons, Medan-Sidikalang transporting 600 cartons, Medan-Dummy transporting 200 cartons, Binjai-Sibolga transporting 700 cartons, Binjai- Dummy transported 200 cartons, Tebing Tinggi-Pematangsiantar transported 300 cartons, and Tebing Tinggi-Tanjung Balai transported 700 cartons.
