Abstract

Background: Media Conversion of Textual and Photographic Archives as a form of preservation and effort to maintain the informational value of archives. Objective: The purpose of this Final Project is to understand the process of media conversion of archives at the Archives Office of the University of North Sumatra. Method: The research method used in this Final Project is Descriptive Method with data collection techniques including literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. Results: Based on this writing, it is found that the media conversion activities at the Archives Office of the University of North Sumatra include: 1) Preimplementation of Media Conversion which involves creating a Media Conversion report, creating an Archive List, and conducting archive condition checks, 2) Media Conversion Process which starts with scanning the archives, cropping, and adding watermarks, and 3) Uploading to Cloud Storage as a backup solution, including on SIKN/JIKN servers. Conclusion: Overall, the media conversion activities for Textual and Photographic Archives at the Archives Office of the University of North Sumatra are conducted smoothly and in accordance with the regulations of ANRI Number 2 of 2021 and are outlined in the standards of Rector Regulation Number 23 of 2021.
