Abstract

This research discusses the translation techniques of romantic speech contained in the movie Love The Way You Are《我的青春都是你》. The purpose of this study is to describe the translation techniques of romantic speech contained in the movie Love The Way You Are by using the translation theory by Nida and Taber and the translation technique theory by Molina and Albir. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method with phenomenological approach. The results of the data analysis show that there are 16 romantic speech data with different variations in the use of translation techniques. Overall, there are 8 translation techniques used according to Molina and Albir. The translation technique that appears most often is the modulation technique because this technique changes the perspective or point of view contained in the sentence, so that the desired meaning remains clear and well understood by the target language reader.
