Ethnic diversity in Medan City creates unique sociolinguistic dynamics, especially in the use of Hokkien language by the Chinese community. This study aims to describe the form of Hokkien swearwords in Chinese communities in Medan City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through Google Form and in-depth interviews. The research respondents were members of the Medan Chinese community. The results of the study identified 35 data of curses in the form of kalinat. The curses cover a wide range of semantic categories, including state, profession, kinship, body part, activity, and animal comparison. The level of rudeness of the curses varied, reflecting the social and cultural complexity of the community. In conclusion, the use of Hokkien curses not only serves as an expression of emotion, but also reflects social hierarchy, cultural values, and efforts to maintain ethnic identity in the context of Medan's multicultural society.
