Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the use and function of language used by gay people in posts on the Douyin application. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data used in this research are words, phrases and clauses in the form of Chinese text in sentences described in narrative form along with photos. The data collection method in this research uses note-taking and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the language used by gay people is often found in gay account posts, especially on the Xiao Dian Tong Xue account on the Douyin application. other people and can only be understood by fellow gay people. From the analysis of 14 language data in gay people, it was found that the words 惹 (rě), 素 (sù), 噜 (lū), 厚 (hòu), 笑鼠 (xiào shǔ), 惹素 (rě sù), 攻 (gōng ), 受 (shòu), 零 (líng; 0), 一 (yī; 1), 一点五 (líng diǎn wǔ; 0.5), 熏 (xūn), 路人甲 (lùrénjiǎ), 靴靴 (xuē xuē). However, the words 惹 (rě) and 素 (sù) are the most dominant ones used.
