Deskripsi Pertunjukan ‘Perdalanen’ oleh Sintong Pasaribu pada Lake Toba Traditional Music Festival 2.0 Roadshow Kabupaten Dairi oleh Rumah Karya Indonesia

Abstract

Lake Toba Traditional Music Festival 2.0 (LTTMF 2.0) is an idea from Rumah Karya Indonesia, where artists or craftsmen from 4 ethnic groups in the Lake Toba area will create works by collaborating between artists and involving the local community. LTTMF 2.0 has the theme “The Sound of the Lake; Interpreting, Caring for and Living Traditional Music.” Three element are presented in the form of a festival. One of the works created is entitled "Perdalanen" which was composed by Sintong Brifo Pasaribu by raising the traditional idiom Pak-pak. This study aims to describe the cultivation and background of the creation of the composition of the traditional music work "Perdalanen". In this paper, the author uses the theory of musical performance by Milton Singer and Goffman analysis as an integral part of the discussion, and the perspective of music creation theory to analyze the background of the composition of the work by Roger Reynold. This study used a qualitative research method, namely collecting data by observation, documentation, interviews, and literature study. Based on the description above, the results obtained from this study are a description of the performance "Perdalanen" at the Lake Toba Traditional Music Festival 2.0 which includes the work on the work and the background for the creation of the work.
