Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood pumped by the heart against the walls of the arteries. It represents the force needed to distribute oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood throughout the body, particularly within the large arteries of the systemic circulation. High blood pressure is one of the most common conditions in the elderly, who ore particularly vulnerable to serve degenerative diseases that can be fatal. The purpose of this study is to describe the blood pressure status of the elderly. This quantitative study uses a descriptive design. The sample consists of 188 elderly individuals selected using accidental sampling techniques. Blood pressure was measured using a stethoscope and aneroid sphygmomanometer. The results indicate a high prevalence of hypertension among the elderly in Selemak Village. with a higher incidence in females than in males. Most respondents are between 60-69 years old and have only completed elementary education. The majority ore unemployed and are housewives. It is recommended that the local health center (Puskesmas) implement early hypertension prevention programs for the elderly to improve normal blood pressure levels among this population.
