The Role of Local Communities in The Development of Natural Tourism in Meat Village, Tampahan District, Toba District
Abstract
Toba Regency is a district in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The capital is Balige City. Toba Regency is one of seven districts that surround Lake Toba, which is the largest lake in Indonesia. Of course, there are many natural tourist destinations to be developed into the tourism sector in Toba Regency, but one that is quite popular and much sought after by tourists is Meat Village. This village has beautiful views with the backdrop of Lake Toba which has a beautiful panorama. Not only that, Meat Village is also an icon that can show the beauty of the scenery. This natural tourism can be utilized by local communities to be managed as a source of livelihood. The aim of this research is to determine the role of local communities in the development of the Meat Village natural tourism village in Toba Regency and to determine the destination development that occurs among the Meat Village natural tourism community in Toba Regency. The research methods used in this paper are library research and field research. The results of this paper show that the role of the community, regional, district and central governments should be to pay more attention to Meat Village so that the development of this village as a tourist village can be carried out.
